TEACHING CERTIFICATION LEVELS

The following Teaching Certifications Levels are available to all A.T.A.M.A. members of black belt rank:

1. Teacher of the Martial Arts

2. Senior Teacher of the Martial Arts

3. Master Teacher of the Martial Arts

4. Professor of the Martial Arts

5. Senior Professor of the Martial Arts

Certification within any of the above Teaching Levels is not dependent on the member’s rank within his/her own martial art style.  Rather, certification is predicated on maintaining membership in good standing within A.T.A.M.A., and completion of a prescribed minimum number of hours of instruction in those subjects approved by the National Board as mandatory for that teaching level.

In order to insure continuing participation within A.T.A.M.A., and to insure that each instructor remains educationally current, all Teaching Certification Levels shall, on their face, expire on the date three (3) years from the date of issue, but may be renewed for a similar three (3) year period upon application to the Board, together with sufficient evidence that the applicant has remained a member in good standing, and has taught an approved course(s) of instruction within A.T.A.M.A.’s curriculum prior to expiration of certification.
