Professor Bill Grossman

Professor Bill
Grossman began his training in the Kenpo Karate system in 1972, under the
instruction of Grandmaster Rick Alemany, 10th Dan. After five
grueling years of training, Mr. Grossman earned his Student Black Belt.
Later, in 1978, Mr. Grossman began teaching as he continued his education
with Grandmaster Alemany. Professor Grossman holds a 7th Dan in
the Kenpo Karate System, along with a teaching certificate in Modern Arnis,
from the system founder, Grandmaster Remy Presas. In addition to Kenpo and
Arnis, Professor Grossman teaches Wing Chun Kung Fu, along with martial
arts weapons, including Bo, Chinese Broadsword, Katana, Tonfa and Kamas.
Professor Grossman has enjoyed a long, successful competition career in
addition to his teaching experiences. Of his over 500 first-place black
belt division victories, the more notable championships include: 1983-84
Forms Grand Champion, Super Star Nationals; Golden Gate Championships
Grand Champion; South Bay Kajukenbo Open Champion; Grasso’s ’86
Martial Arts Open Champion; ’90 AMAPA Nationals Champion;
San Francisco Open Champion; West Coast Nationals Champion; and on
the national curcuit, he has consistently placed in the top-top ten in
such notable events as Ralph Castro’s Nationals and the Battle of
Atlanta. Professor Grossman has been consistently top-ranked regionally
and nationally by Karate Illustrated Magazine and the National Black Belt
League. Professor Grossman is the promoter for 3 major annual tournaments;
The Cable Car Karate Challenge; Gold Coast Karate Championships and the
